Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 20, 2026

Moments (“Moments”, “we”, or “us”) values and respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you use the Moments website and related software and services (collectively, the “Service”), as well as the rights you have. Please read this Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described here. This Privacy Policy forms part of our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

Account information

When you register or sign in (including via Google), we collect identifying information such as your email address, display name, and profile picture as provided by your identity provider.

Content you submit

The Service lets you upload videos or provide video URLs so the pipeline can extract a transcript and keyframes. The source video, its derived transcript and keyframes, and any titles or notes you add are stored in your account for as long as you keep them.

Communication and feedback

When you contact us we collect your contact details and the content of the messages you send.

1.2 Information we collect automatically

Device and log information

When you use the Service we automatically collect technical information such as device type, browser, operating system, IP address, and error logs.

Usage data

We collect information about how you use the Service — pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns — to maintain and improve it.

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the Service, keep you signed in, and analyse usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

1.3 Information we do not collect

Moments does not actively collect sensitive categories of personal information such as biometric data, health information, religious beliefs, or precise geolocation.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and operate the Service — including ingesting your video, generating its transcript, and extracting keyframes;
  • To create and manage your account and respond to your inquiries;
  • To improve and develop the Service, including debugging and troubleshooting;
  • To communicate with you about Service updates, changes, and important notices;
  • To prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and protect the lawful rights of users, Moments, or third parties.

We may aggregate or de-identify personal data for analysis and service improvement; such data is maintained in a form that cannot be linked back to you.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in the following circumstances:

Service providers

We rely on third-party vendors to operate the Service, including cloud hosting and storage (Supabase), authentication providers you choose to sign in with (such as Google), transcription providers used by the processing pipeline, and analytics and security tooling. These vendors process data only to the extent needed to provide their services to us.

Legal compliance and rights protection

We may disclose personal data when we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the safety, rights, or property of any person, or to prevent fraud and illegal activity.

Business transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or asset transfer, personal data may be transferred as part of the transaction; the recipient will remain bound by protections substantially consistent with this Policy.

With your consent

We may share your personal data in other circumstances with your consent.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as needed to fulfil the purposes described here, operate the Service, and meet legitimate business needs (such as legal compliance, security, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements). You can delete individual videos from your workspace at any time; deleted videos and their associated transcripts and keyframes are removed from live systems. When data is no longer necessary, we delete, de-identify, or anonymise it in accordance with applicable law.

5. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, or destruction. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so you should exercise caution when deciding what information to share with the Service.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on the laws applicable to your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: request access to the personal data we hold about you;
  • Right to rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Right to deletion: request deletion of your personal data where conditions are met;
  • Objection and restriction: object to or restrict processing where applicable;
  • Withdrawal of consent: where processing is based on your consent, withdraw it (without affecting prior processing).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@moments.app. To protect your account we may need to verify your identity first. We will not treat you in a discriminatory manner for exercising your privacy rights.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or a higher age as required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from such children. If you believe we may have collected a child’s personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

8. Cross-Border Data Transfers

To operate the Service, your personal data may be transferred to and stored in locations outside your country or region. We take appropriate measures to ensure such transfers comply with applicable law and that your data remains adequately protected.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page; for material changes we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
